This awesome cast background is made from a hand crafted original sculpted specifically for us, this product is an exclusive of Saurian! The main background panel with the face, measures approximately 17.5 inches tall, and 30 inches long. This piece is obviously the star of the show, and we outfit it with a pump and tubing to allow water to flow over the face of the background, (the piece in the photo is not modified in this way, and we can add the water feature or leave it off, but the "default" is for the background to have the water feature). We also add several drip points to keep any plants you want to mount on the background watered. Also included in the kit is a tube of silicone and some other installation supplies, such as the tree fern dust for finishing seams, and latex gloves. For tanks under 24 inches high, this is probably the only background pieces in this kit you will need, as the substrate is going to be around four or five inches deep, and any remaining gaps can be finished with a strip of tree fern panel or great stuff foam.
The Mayan Background group includes three additional pieces, all of which are sold separately. If you click on the "view detailed image" button, you will see all four pieces installed in a larger tank. So, we've covered the main panel, with the face. Above this are two trim pieces, each of which are the same length as the main panel. The one immediately above the main panel is eight inches high and has the more elaborate pattern. The one above that is about six inches high.
The 30 inch length of these panels means you will need
to fill in the remaining length of your tank, if its longer than thirty
inches. This is not a problem, just select the optional "trim panels"
below when you are creating your background package, and write in the
width of your tank. We will custom mold a pair of trim panels to go on
either side of your background, in our Terra Tech material, or if you
prefer we can supply you with tree fern panel to fill this gap. In the case of tanks at or longer than about four foot, we can add terrarium rocks to the Terra Tech material at each end, and supply the entire background mounted on a semi rigid background that can be inserted into your tank.
