The Tarapoto imitator is a some what uncommon form of the R. imitator species. This frog is a little more delicate, and difficult to breed than normal green imitators, but once established they are pretty easy to keep and breed. Imitators enjoy a favored spot in the thumbnail lineup, and are somewhat bolder than many of the shyer types of thumbnail frogs. Imitators have a nice low call, which wont wake any one up, but can be heard several feet away from the tank. Great little frogs!
The frogs in the picture is one of our recent sexed pairs, and fairly typical of what we are working with here.
