The Varadero form of R. imitator is arguably the most spectacular form of imitator, the reddish orange head and stripes down the back, along with the blue netting on the legs make this frog a real stunner! This frog varies a bit, some examples are just outstanding, but all that I've seen are at least very nice! The specimen in the picture is one of the nicer looking frogs we have produced here, but by no means unusual. Our bloodline seems to produce a lot of brightly colored frogs.
We have quite a few of these here, and should be able to offer a few sexed pairs during the fall and winter of 2011, but this item is for well established unsexed juvenile frogs.
Thumbnail dart frogs present special challenges, especially for the beginning hobbyist. Please read the appropriate caresheets, particularly this one, if you are at all uncertain about the care of these frogs. In addition after reading this and the other relevant caresheets, if you still have questions don't hesitate to email!
