D. galactonotus “Yellow”
This form of galactonotus ranges from a pale yellow to a bright lemon yellow, and rarely has much yellow on the legs. The color extends down the flanks, and ends in an even line. I am not sure what determines the intensity of the yellow, my original group is bright yellow, but the recent acquisitions have all been a paler yellow. Perhaps its like my orange galacs, in that some frogs from the same parents will look paler than clutchmates. |

Its been hard to obtain breeding stock of this frog, and I only have one group of them at this point. I haven't had much luck in the last couple of years with them, but have added some fresh frogs to my program recently, and hope to get them going. They are a fairly bold frog, and as with all the galacs, seem to do well in groups.
We have also recently acquired a group of yellow galacs that are a bit different, in that the line that separates the yellow from the black is ragged, as opposed to the crisp line that is typical on the other form. I am guessing this is a separate locality, and plan to keep them separate from the other yellow form. |
