Cinnamon Tree Frog breeding group (2.2)

Cinnamon Tree Frog breeding group (2.2)

I've been breeding Cinnamon frogs for over ten years!  These frogs are easy to keep and breed, and don't make a lot of demands on you for tank space, in fact an 18 xy 18 by 24 Exo Terra type tank could comfortably house a group of eight or so.

Our Cinnamon Frogs are prolific breeders, and juvenile frogs reach maturity early, often breeding at only four or five months of age.  When I have a few that sprout up and get some size on them before they sell, it is not surprising to find eggs in the tank...this group of four is just such a group, and I just recently observed amplexus...eggs are sure to follow....I'm offering this little ready made breeding project for $255.

Cinnamon Frogs have recently been reclassified as Theloderma pictus or pictum, and hail from the rainforests of Malaysia and Borneo, and are tree hole breeders, meaning the eggs and tadpoles are found in tree hollows both rotted and alive.  While in most cases they are found at ground level, its a safe bet that they may breed at higher levels of the forest.  While doing some research for an article I wrote a few years back, I spoke to a researcher in Malaysia who told me that he was unaware of any researcher or other western scientist who had ever seen one of the frogs in the day time.  Obviously very little is known of the frogs in their native habitat!

Easy to keep and breed, these small tree frogs are very cool and unusual!!
