Ranitomeya imitator "Green"

Ranitomeya imitator "Green"

This is one of the first thumbnails I ever kept, and they were fun to keep then, and the same is true now, despite the many amazing choices out there for the frog hobbyist, these frogs are still a great choice.  They are very nice looking, and fairly bold.  Once you get a pair or a small group of these going they will breed at a great rate, I've had females lay on average an egg every day....of course they lay two to four eggs every three or four days...

Anyway, excellent choice as a beginner thumbnail, despite the issues they can present when trying to keep more than a pair together.  Heavy feeding and lots of hide spots will be required to make that work, and you should watch for any frogs that are not getting along.

We provide a bit more detailed information about this frog on our  Dart Frog Species Profile page for this species, here.

Please do not order dart frogs without becoming familiar with their care. We provide full care instructions on the Thumbnail Dart Frog Care Sheet page, if you are a beginner with dart frogs, please read through this information, and feel free to ask any questions, we are happy to help.
