A List of Zoos and Institutions we Have Supplied

Hello Patrick,

Sorry for the delay in my response but I've been wrapped up in our Frog exhibit.  The leaf frogs look amazing and are displaying very well in our exhibit. They were expertly packed and very healthy, even eating the same day they arrived! I also look forward to ordering some darts from you in the near future. All of the supplies I have ordered from you have been top-notch and I truly appreciate all of the tips you have provided.  I would happily recommend you to any institution in need of great quality livestock and supplies. Thanks again Patrick!

I just wanted to thank you for the speedy shipment of fly culturing material!  I just recieved it in a surprisingly short amount of time. You are by far the best supplier I've used, always providing excellent products and great service.  I greatly appreciate everything you've done for me! You always answer my questions quickly with detail and because of that, I was
able to save my frogs from a fatal aeromonas breakout and now they are healthier and more active than ever.  I definitely havn't encountered any online business as professional and helpful as yours!

Ben Fisher

I just wanted to thank you for your prompt delivery and easy ordering process on the 2 Azureus frogs.  They are absolutely gorgeous and you've got yourself a customer for life.  I look forward to doing business with you.

Justin LaTorre

I just received frogs, they are alive and doing well.  I'm going home in a few minutes to put them in the tank.  Thank you for your great customer service and wonderful specimens.  I'm totally impressed with everything.  Thank you for everything!

I had some space  in my fish room so i was wondering what i could keep at 70 - 80 degrees. I went online and discover that i could keep dart Frogs at this temp.i got a couple books about dart frogs ,read them set up a ten gallon terrarium and contacted the local pet store about ordering fruit flies when he ordered his crickets. so everything was set except i had no frogs. went online and discovered that pat rick might have a pair of Blue Azures, so i called and a couple days later my pair came, the day they came my grandson was here so we opened them up together. The containers were marked with the symbols for male and female . When we put them in the first thing my grandson said was the female was ready she really looked great all round on the sides,so he asked me how soon they will lay eggs i said i would be delighted if  they lay eggs in 5 months or so. The first couple days i observed them and it sure looked like the female was ready but the male seemed not interested in her kept running away. On the third morning something told me to look under the hut sure enough there was a clutch of 7 eggs i was elated. so even if these eggs don't make it i have gained great experience in the keeping of these beautiful frogs.

I would highly recommend getting your frogs from Patrick at www.saurian.net .  His selection of frogs is top of the line.  He is personable and answered my email questions faster than anyone else I have bought frogs from.  When I have bought frogs from other people, they always pushed the ship date back, but Patrick said he would ship on Monday, and he did!  The frogs were fat and very active when they arrived.  I would highly recommend doing business with Patrick and www.saurian.net .

I just thought i'd let you know this...got home from work this afternoon and found three eggs in the film canister of one of the pairs of intermedius I got from you back on 18th of November....I know you said these guys would mature quickly but Im absolutely shocked at this.

THanks!!! If i had the cash right now the imitators would be on their way like NOW!! cant wait till spring thank you very much Patrick!

Hello Patrick, The frogs arrived at 10: 00 a.m. in excellent shape. They are fat, heathly and started eated almost immediately. The colors and pattern are even more striking than in the pictures. They are more yellowish orange than I expected, but nontheless spectacular. I'm also interested in D. tinctorius but need a little more info on set-ups. No hurry, but when you get a spare moment could you give some more info on geting started with these less compatible frogs. I have a spare 30 gallon tank that might be suitable. Visistors at the center are amazed by these little jewels. The director, my boss, gave me one more chance when I bought the auratus from you since the first frogs I bought from another breeder died. Now they are hit . Starting with heathly frogs makes all the difference. So I'm hoping she will let me start another tank.

Tree Hill/ Naturalist

I recieved my 4 panamanian D. auratus and my blue and black auratus.  The green ones are far more vibrant than any picture or frog I've seen.  I was extremely impressed and these frogs and the quality of shipping exceded my expectations.  They are all active and eating.  I have also found that refrigerating the fruit flies for a couple of minutes makes them extremely easy to deal with, do you think this will interfere with their reproduction?

Thanks again!

Hi Patrick,
I am sorry it took me so long to get the attached letter to you.  This semester has been very hectic.  I want to thank you again for your willingness to nelp the SFCC herp club with this donation.  Please look over the attached letter and let me know if it will suffice or do you need any additional information in it.  If it is fine, let me know and I will go ahead and send it out on school letterhead with copies of our tax certificates.

Please also let me know when the frogs can be shipped.  The students have put the tanks together and are ready for the frogs.  For us, the sooner, the better.  Our PO is for 2 D. azureus and 3 blue D. arautus.  Thanks again for your help and I look forward to hearing from you.  You are wonderful!!

With gratitude,
Jennifer Johnston

  Hi Patrick,
This is Bill Rogers, I ordered a male azureus fine spot on Monday the 6th.  Upon receiving him I placed him in my tank with my female, and fed him.  He ate right away, so no worries there! Soon after they ate my female went right up to him and started to stroke his flank, but I think he was alittle stressed out from his trip so surely nothing came of it.  He seems to still be settling in to his new surroundings, and I am beginning to see more and more of him, but still seems to hide alittle.  I was wondering if you could tell me how old he is, just as referance, and also  send his bloodline information if it is not too much trouble.  I will keep you updated if there are any problems.  Thank you, your reputation surely precedes you, he is great looking, worth every cent.  Hopefully he will begin calling soon! You have earned another life long customer (I am sure you hear that a lot!!).

Thanks again

The frogs are amazing.  All arautus and both azureus ate with in 20 minutes of being put in their new enclosures.  They are all so fat and active.  Even the blue arautus don't hide.  I see them anytime of the day hopping around in the open.  This is the fifth time we have ordered from you and once again, we are more than satisfied.  I recommend you to everyone.  Also, most importantly, THANK YOU for the generosity you have shown to the SFCC Herpetology Club.  It is so appreciated.  You are the total package Patrick!!!  We are loving you down here.  More orders soon. Thanks again for everything.

Jerry & Jennifer Johnston & The SFCC Herpetology Club

Patrick-Just a word of thanks for the ‘Bastimentos' pumillio we received from you.  The fecals all came up negative and the frogs are very active and feeding enthusiastically on springtails.  I was quite impressed with the packaging as well,  it is clear to me that you have great respect for the animals you are working with.  I've also noticed distinctly different behavior from all three frogs which may be an indication that I have a mixed group.  I will be in touch in the near future as we want to increase our groups of azureus and leucomelas at the aquarium.  I would also like to add myself to your waiting list for Phelsuma klemmeri.    Once again, excellent work.

I awoke this am to one of the imis calling! As always, the size and quality of frogs you have sent me has been exceptional. This reinforces yet again why coming back to you for frogs was the right decision. I pat myself on the back.  Thanks again. If you get any exceptional frogs in future, keep me in mind. Have a great weekend. Shawn

Hello Patrick, My name is Jon Duridkc, I bought a pair of adult Azures from you several months back. I just wanted to drop you a note and let you know that all the frogs are doing great, I have nothing but respect for the quality of frogs you send out. I am rather exicted to say that my Azures have laid their first eggs, from the first batch  of three eggs one was viable and has since hacthed out into a voracious little tadpole. The pair have since laid another batch of three egg two of which are developing nicely.

Jus wanted to say thanks again.

Hello Patrick,   I just wanted to let you know how pleased I've been with the three pairs of D. Azureus I purchased from you  8-24-05.  Not only are they in great health and growing well, but all three pairs have laid eggs in the six short weeks that I've had them.  Given their young ages I couldn't be happier.                                         Thanks again,    Dr.  Polzin
I just wanted to let you know everything arrived safe and healthy!! I am very impresssed with the size and health of my jeuveniles. My aurautus isnt even shy!! They are all eating. Let me know if at a later date you have any specials! I will do business with you again soon!!
Thanks again Emily

Patrick - The order has arrived everything is OK!!  The frogs are very active and look great!!  Thank you so much for help as well as your communication.  It was excellent doing business with you and I plan be buying from you again.  I do have a question.  The two zip lock bags included, are those the supplements?  And would you recommend me feeding them right now or let them settle in a bit.

Again thanks so much!!
Carlo Hernandez Very satisfied customer.

Hi Patrick

I left you a voice mail but I also wanted to send you a quick e mail. I would just like to say the sexed pair of Tinct's you sent me are outstanding. Having never seen sub adult tinct's I was amazed at there size, I never realized they were so big. Even my wife was impressed (in fact I haven't seen her that impressed since we moved out to the states from UK and she saw how big the shoe stores were!) The Tinct's seem to have settled well into their new home, they have been eating well and have already explored most areas of their viv. On arrival they didn't seem stressed by the journey at all, which was a relief. How old roughly are the pair you sent me? I know I said on the phone that I would e mail you pictures of my Auratus however I had somewhat of an emergency. One of them had managed to escape through a hole in the mesh lid on my 55 gal, I had recently made a new hood with fans, lights etc and opening it had worn a hole in the mesh that I hadn't noticed. I found the green and black down the back of the unit the tank sits on, I hadn't seen him in over 24 hrs (one reason I have moved away from 55 gal heavily planted vivs). He was like a piece of leather, but still breathing. He is now in a quarantine box but he/she is not eating, shedding his old skin and has lost most of his green coloration. He also doesn't move around much, though he has full movement as on occasion he will get very active, but only briefly. I have added a vitamin powder to the damp kitchen paper in the hope this will absorb into his system, the box is misted daily but to be honest I'm not holding my breath for a full recovery. Have you had any experience with escapees? Can you give me any tips on how improve his recovery (if at all he ever fully recovers)?

Anyway, thanks for all the advice you have given me so far, and thanks for the outstanding Tinct's you sent me. Please feel free to use any content of this e mail in your customer testimonials, and hopefully as my experience with these incredible animals grows (and permission off the wife to get more tanks) I will be ordering some of the not so common or hardy species from you in a few years. I certainly wouldn't buy from anybody else now.

Many thanks for an outstanding service

This is Johnathan Dorlac,

I wanted to e-mail you to say that I was 110% impressed with the order I recieved. The frogs were awsome, they were definitely more than I expected. I definitely can not say anything bad about the buisness you run. I garantee I will be doing buisness with you again. And I will definitely pass the word about what a great product you sell and a great person you are to do buisness with.

Thank you,

Johnathan Dorac

I just received frogs, they are alive and doing well.  I'm going home in a few minutes to put them in the tank.  Thank you for your great customer service and wonderful specimens.  I'm totally impressed with everything.

Thank you for everything!

Hi Patrick,
The frogs arrived safely yesterday. Thanks you. Again, what a beautiful job you do with these guys. They ate within minutes and I had to move my fruit fly cultures because I absentmindedly put the frogs next to them, and as I checked them in the evening, they were all lined up trying to eat the flies "next door"! They are healthy for sure. A far cry from any other frogs I have seen for sale. I told my husband that regarding dart frogs, "If Patrick doesn't have it, I don't need it!"

Thanks again and I appreciate your good work and service!

Hi Patrick,

You had shipped a pair of azureus and 4 red galacs to me in Montana about 3 months ago. I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know they are doing well. So well that the azureus laid eggs 2 weeks ago and I have one tad from that first batch and now they've laid another six eggs. I'm so excited to see if they can develop into frogs - what kick that would be. The directions on your website have been very helpful. Do azureus usually lay during a season and then take a break? The red galacs are doing well too. It worked really well to keep them in the little shoebox containers until they were bigger. It was so easy for them to get food. It was a bit nerve wracking the first week they were in their terrarium as I was afraid they wouldn't find food. I gave them tons of flies to make sure there were some available everywhere. They seem to be doing great now. A few are so fat they look as if they've eaten a marble. Thanks for sending such healthy frogs and giving good advice your website. Hope you and your family are enjoying summer!

Hi Patrick! I wanted to write to you to express my thanks for the closest to perfect azureus I have ever seen! The packaging and the care was great, I have never seen frogs so active and alert as these. As soon as they were acclimated to the temperature of their enclosure they began displaying behaviors I had only read about in other books. I have to say you are the real deal, a genuine article among so many. I know this because the care is evident in the frogs themselves, animals of this quality do not happen by accident. Please accept my appreciation and thanks for a job well done Mr. Nabors.

Sincerely Yours George.

Hi, Patrick:

I just wanted to write to thank you for your extremely generous donation of 8 frogs (auratus and Alanis tinctorius) to the Marva Collins elementary school in Milwaukee , Wisconsin .  They are incredibly beautiful and healthy.  I was astonished at the size of the 4-month old auratus!  They are all feeding voraciously and are very active.  They have become quite an attraction at the school.  Several students and parents have asked if they glow in the dark because their colors are so vibrant!

These frogs will be used as ambassadors to expose our students to the wonders of the natural world.  They will learn about the rainforest and the animals and people that inhabit it.  Our goal is to turn our children into"citizens of the world" and I have found that animals are a great way to expose them to geography, biology, anthropology, and ecology.  These"little jewels" that you have donated will be on prominent display in our school for years to come and will help teach our children about the wonders of the world they live in.  I truly appreciate all of the time you have taken to answer questions and walk me through the husbandry.

Once again, thank you so much for your generosity!  A+ for the quality of your frogs and for your customer service.

Hi Patrick, I gotta tell ya.. I had recently purchased some D. pumilio bastimentos and they were knockout gorgeous, nice fat and healthy I have 2 male wild caught Bastimentos pumilio they look drab in comparison. I purchased my new froglets from you in hopes of getting at least one female.. my males are set up in a huge vivarium calling and challenging each day for the "high" spots with the other pumilio in their tank, literally wrestling, it's quite comical.. I have had plenty of courtship from the others but only the red pumilio has produced on occasion for me. There are six (4.2 I believe) blue jean pumilio that I would only wish they got going.. Anyway I am impressed with your quality of frog, I have been collecting/keeping/breeding dart frogs for 28+ years and was still impressed with your frogs.. Anyone thinking about buying from Patrick, he's a great guy to talk frog to and you WILL get a quality frog.. All the Best, Peter Keane, Curator of Reptiles, Jungle World

Peter Keane

I just wanted to write a quick thank you for the frogs that you sent to me at the beginning of the week.  So far from what I saw, both of my D. galactonotus as well as the four D. auratus are well conditioned Fruit Fly vacuumns that very well may eat me out of house and home, but still so much better then having animals that won't feed.  I am totally amazed how 6 frogs that small can REALLY EAT THAT MANY FLIES!!!!  You were absolutely correct
in saying that I will need to keep my own cultures going, and I have just started culturing a few new ones.

Count me as one of the group of very satisfied customers that you have dealt with.  I have ordered animals from other places before in the past, and I can honestly say that these were in tip top form, much better then what I could have ever anticipated and you will certainly be hearing from me once again when I expand to another couple of tanks.  Talk very soon once again Patrick.

Brian A. Waldbiesser

Hi Patrick,
The frogs arrived safely yesterday. Thank you. I have to say, I have never seen such healthy frogs for sale! These guys are picture perfect. They ate twenty minutes after I released them into the terrarium. The Leucemelas, (sp?), is  a little more shy, but the others practically beg at the front of the tank. If anything happens in the negative with them, I can assure you, it is no fault of yours! You do a beautiful job.

I hope to have them as pets for a long time, and will look to you for my next dart frog purchase.

Thanks a million,

Thank You so much for the frogs you sent my husband this week. He has been looking forward to owning dart frogs for years. You you have allowed him to be able to order on-line with confidence. He has been looking at dart frogs for years.

Again thank you.

By the way, the frogs are doing great!

Hello Patrick!

Thanks again for the kindness in getting a beginner off to a great start. My frogs are in their new paludarium. I keep my three Dendrobates Galactonotus at work. ( I have named them Porthos, Athos, Aramis.) I want to get at least 1 more and name it DART anion.) I get many compliments on the set up and the frogs. It
would not have turned out so great if it were not the extra care and patience you had answering my questions and directing me to your care sheets. The care sheets on the fruit fly culturing is great as well as starting out with the frogs. Feel free to use me as a reference in e-mail or by phone for any customers etc.

Thanks again

I just wanted to say thank you for your kind donation of four dart frogs to ESD 101 here in Spokane, WA. They are gorgeous little guys and will become TV stars on my science program in a few days. They arrived in perfect condition and are lapping up fruit flies like I eat M and M's.

Elementary kids will learn to love the rainforest after seeing what beautiful animals live there and depend on rainforests for survival. Also, thanks so much for the tremendous amount of work you have devoted to dart frog care and husbandry on your website. That is a great resource and helps insure that your frogs will be well taken care of and live long and productive lives as rainforest ambassadors.

Hi Patrick!
I love my beautiful little froglets!!! They are spectacular. They arrived just before 12 noon today. All 4 were in great condition and active. Three of them ate immediately; I'm still waiting on the fourth.

Your customer support has been top notch, and the shipping/packaging impeccable.

Rest assured that I will keep a close eye on them as they grow-up, and will be sure to be in touch with any questions.

Hi Patrick:

The kids have been having a ball in their new home. They explore every inch and both are eating very well! WOW! Your babies have no down time!!! And I never imagined the color would so beautiful. They are more beautiful then any picture I have seen and any of my imaginings. You and your frogs have greatly exceeded my expectations, and they were high due to your reputation on the net. My ENTIRE family(despite my doubts-husband not a animal guy)have begun to see the reasons why I'm wild about them and share time with me every time I feed them. Pretty soon...I'll be thanking you for improving my marriage!

I am going up to Frog Day and I think I may be a little like a child in a candy store. I will probably fall prey to purchase a trio of imitators if some are available from a reputable source(I think, however, you will be a hard act to follow). After having such a positive experience with your Tincs, I can not wait to get the imitators. I will contact you after May 24 if I was some how able to resist, as I know that you undoubtedly have the best frogs anyone can acquire.

Hi Patrick,

The frogs got here at about 9:00 and they look awesome. Thanks for the waxworms and the extra Blue Auratus. They have some of the best patterns and blue that I've ever seen. They look better than any we've seen at the IAD(there were atleast 30 of them at the IAD alone) and any other show I've been to. We went to the Detroit Zoo and we checked out the Peruvian Rainforest exhibit, its like being in a terrarium with the frogs running around your feet. You have to be careful not to step on them. Its awesome. You'll have to come up and see it. When and if you do let me know. I'd be more than happy to share my knowledge of the area with you. I've lived five miles from the zoo all my life. All the frogs look awesome and its nice to deal with someone who is as honest as you and willing to share information. thanks again!

I just wanted to say thank you again for the great customer service I received when dealing with you. The Cobalts you sent me are great! Like I said before, the pictures don't do them justice at all. I look forward to dealing with you again in the future. I also have a couple questions: How long should a fruit fly culter last? How long does it take for one to start producing well? Have these frogs reeched sexual maturity, or about when will they? How wet should the media in the fruit fly culture be, you said add a "scant half cup" of water to one third a cup of media dry mix, but it doesn't seem very wet, almost clumpy, should I add more water?. Thanks again!

I received the two Surinam Cobalts early morning today, before 9:00 A.M. ! The frogs look spectacular and fed on fruitflies within the hour I got them. I will definitely purchase frogs from you in the future if I further pursue this hobby. I must say that you really give fast and insightful feedback after a customer emails you! I am completely convinced that you are the best quality frog breeder out there.

I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that the frogs arrived in perfect condition yesterday. They are in their new home (a 7 gallon bowfront) and getting acclimated. Thank you again for the wonderful frogs
you've sent. There are people in this business who are less than scrupulous and I have received some rather 'shaky' animals in the past, but it was an absolute joy to see these very well cared for animals arrive at my door.

Hi Patrick,
I picked up my D. Auratus' at the post office this morning. Everything went according to plan. They are very alert and healthy looking, also a very attractive bright green like you said. I must commend you on your exceptional product and service. You really seem to care about the animals and their success. After researching where I wanted to get my frogs your site always came up at the top of my list. If I have any future frog purchases (which I'm sure I will, these animals are absolutely breathtaking) I will look no further than Saurian Enterprises. Thank you for the wonderful animals.

Hi Patrick,
Wow-what great little frogs! They arrived early this afternoon and I am so pleased. All of them made the journey with a minimum amount of stress. They are little bundles of energy, going nonstop and busily checking everything out. I was really suprized at the distance that they can jump considering the size of their tiny legs. One jumped out of the shipping container past the plastic container it was supposed to go into plus another foot across the table. Amazing!

Thanks so much for all of your advice and for making this such a pleasant  experience. Talk about above and beyond the call of duty in answering all my  questions! I really appreciate all the help you've given me!

Thanks again for the great frog shipment. I was really impressed with not only the quality of your animals but also your shipping methods. Dear Patrick,

The frogs arrived in great shape! Wow, you sure do feed them well; I have never seen any come off of an airplane looking that robust before.

I have to say, your professionalism and responsiveness has been refreshing. As someone who has dealt with less than honorable mail order vendors in the past, I would like to thank you for your knowledge, your accessibility and your informative nature. It is evident to me that you care about your impact to the hobby, AND the people you service.

I would also like to thank you for all of the information you have given me on D. imitator. Dendrobatid husbandry could definitely use more people like you!

Look forward to asking you about how to raise the tadpoles......when the time comes!

I have been involved with herpetoculture as a hobbyist since the 70's and as a full time animal health professional for fourteen years. Consequently, I have had the opportunity to visit many herpetocultural facilities from large, world class zoos to the most basic hobbyists' herp rooms. When I first saw Patrick Nabors automated system for breeding frogs of the Dendrobates pumilio complex on the internet, I was most impressed by the apparent health and beauty of the bromeliads. Now, having visited Patrick's
facility in person, I can state without hesitation that not only is it stunning to look at, but the frogs were robust, active and calling like it was the rainy season in a neotropical rain forest. I know this because I
have been in the rain forest. Simply stated, Patrick Nabors has the most innovative and impressive dendrobatid breeding facility that I have seen to date.

Hi Patrick. Just wanted to thank you for the frogs. I am very pleased. They look great. Those tincs are HUGE! What do you feed those guys? The bicolors look great, too. I've never bought frogs from someone that looked this good. I will definitely be recommending you to my friends. In fact, I have a friend that is into small species of geckos, which I noticed you breed also. I gave him your card, and he should be calling on you soon. Once again, I wanted to thank you for sending me such nice animals. I will be contacting you again when I'm ready to buy more frogs.

Thanks again!,
Brian Corey

Hello Patrick, just wanted to let you know that the Dendrobates pumilio arrived in great shape last night. They are very robust and healthy - you obviously know what you are doing with this species. It was a pleasure dealing with you, and congratulations again on your sucess!

Hi Patrick,

Just wanted to thank you again for the frogs - they are really healthy looking and very active. I look forward to seeing them grow so that I can put them in the habitat that I've set up.

I'll keep you posted on their progress, if you are interested, and will let you know about the misting equipment.

Thanks again,

Patrick, thanx again, they are beautiful and look very healthy, they immediately ate. I like them all, but I have a little preference for the almost black one with a little dot of color on the back, this dot is shape like a tiny light bulb, If i understand you in your billing statement, you said that the biggest frog is a MALE , is that true ?? I know the other one are too young still to give a gender. your name; NABORS; sound French, the first name PATRICK  is also very well used in my country ( France ) are your ancestors French ???.

Thanx again
